Theron Jones, DMD, M.B.A. is owner and sole practitioner of Sandtown Family Dentistry, LLC in Southwest Atlanta.
Dr. Jones received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Medical College of Georgia, where he was awarded the National Health Service Corp Scholarship. He was the first recipient in the School of Dentistry’s history. NHSC is a full scholarship including tuition, fees, books, and a stipend. He completed his externship for NHSC at the Edward M. (Ted) Kennedy Community Health Center, the largest and most comprehensive in the country.
Dr. Jones serves in several different leadership capacities. He is chairman of the board of directors at Turning Point Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Clinic, a member of the Emory College Alumni Board, and a board member of the Kudos Foundation that helps underprivileged youth work towards achieving their goal of entering the healthcare professions. He has worked with the American Cancer Society in the past on an oral cancer initiative in Massachusetts.
He is also very active in the community. As a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and an active member of the 100 Black Men of America, Dr. Jones continues to advocate for social justice and equality, while investing in our youth through award winning mentoring programs.
Before receiving his doctorate, Dr. Jones graduated from Emory University with an undergraduate degree in chemistry, and a Master of Public Policy in health policy from UCLA. He recently completed the MBA/MHA dual-degree program in healthcare management at Georgia State University.
